Pest Control Call Tracking & Reporting

Pest control is a phone business. If you cannot tell which marketing channel produced which call, and whether that call became a job, every budget decision you make is a guess.

The blind spot

Most Pest Control Marketing Reports Measure the Wrong Things

A report full of impressions, clicks, and rankings is a report about activity, not about money. The question you actually need answered is simpler and almost never addressed: for every dollar that left the business, how many booked jobs came back, and from where?

The reason so few companies can answer it is that the conversion happens on the phone, and the phone is invisible to every advertising platform. Google reports a click. It cannot report that the click called your office, spoke to a CSR for six minutes, and scheduled a termite inspection for Thursday. Without call tracking, all of that revenue is attributed to nothing.

The result is predictable. Companies cut the channel that produced their best jobs because the platform could not claim credit, and they keep funding the channel that generates form fills from people shopping for a $49 one-time spray.

The setup

What We Install

1

Dynamic number insertion

Visitors from Google Ads see one number, organic visitors see another, Meta visitors see a third. Every call attributed to the source that produced it, down to the campaign and keyword.

2

Call recording and scoring

Every call recorded and classified: real lead or not, which service, booked or lost. This turns raw call volume into an actual lead count you can trust.

3

Form and text attribution

Not everyone calls. Form fills, chat, and inbound texts get the same source attribution so the whole picture is in one place.

4

CRM and field software integration

Leads flow into FieldRoutes, PestRoutes, GorillaDesk, or Briostack with the source attached, so when a job is marked sold, the revenue traces back to the channel that created it.

5

CSR performance visibility

How many calls were missed, how fast they were answered, and what percentage booked. Frequently the biggest and cheapest available improvement in the entire funnel.

6

One monthly report

Spend, leads, booked jobs, and cost per booked job by channel. One page, in plain English, that answers whether this is working.

What it usually reveals

The First Month of Call Data Is Always Uncomfortable

In nearly every engagement, the first month of call recordings surfaces something the owner did not know: a meaningful share of calls going unanswered at specific hours, a CSR quoting prices that lose the job, leads never called back at all, or a channel everybody assumed was working producing almost nothing real. Fixing what the data exposes is usually worth more than any campaign change we make that quarter.

The follow-through

Closed-Loop Reporting: From Ad Click to Recurring Account

Call tracking alone tells you which channel produced a call. Closed-loop reporting tells you which channel produced revenue, and those are very different questions in a business with recurring plans.

The chain works like this. A lead arrives with a source attached. It flows into your field software with that source preserved. When the job is sold, the value attaches. When that customer renews for a second year, the value attaches again. Now you can answer the question that actually matters: which channel produces customers who stay.

This routinely reverses conclusions. A channel producing cheap leads that book one-time treatments and never renew can look excellent on cost per lead and be worth less than a channel producing expensive leads that convert to quarterly plans lasting three years. If you optimize on cost per lead, you will systematically defund your best channel.

Setting this up requires real integration work rather than a plugin, which is exactly why most agencies skip it and report on clicks instead.

Common questions

Call Tracking, Answered

Will call tracking numbers hurt my local SEO?
Not when implemented correctly. Dynamic number insertion swaps the number only for tracked visitors while your primary NAP number stays consistent in your code, citations, and Google Business Profile. Problems come from careless implementations that replace the number everywhere, which is avoidable.
Do I have to tell callers they are being recorded?
Recording laws vary by state, and some require all-party consent. Standard practice is an automated notice at the start of the call, which we configure based on the states you operate in. Treat this as general information rather than legal advice and confirm your specific obligations with counsel.
Can I keep my existing phone system?
Yes. Tracking numbers forward to your existing lines, so nothing changes for your team and no hardware is replaced. Your CSRs will not notice a difference.
What if I already use CallRail or something similar?
Then we work with what you have. Most companies have the tool and are not using the parts that matter: call scoring, CRM integration, and revenue attribution. Usually the fix is configuration rather than a new vendor.
How quickly will I see useful data?
Attribution starts immediately. Meaningful patterns generally need four to six weeks of volume before you should act on them, and seasonal businesses need longer to distinguish a trend from a season.
